Abstract

Three plants, Microglossa pyrifolia (asteraceae), Petas decora smoore (Rubiaceae) and
Ocimum urticifolium (lamiceae) have been identified and used in tradition al medicine in the
treatment of “blenoragie” at Djugu territory and elsewhere. They were being evaluated for their anti
gonorrhea properties.
The sequential extracts of their vegetal organs have been obtained by the Soxhlet
extraction method. From their cursory phytochemistry analysis are considered the six
big phytochemistry group: the alkaloids, the steroids, the tannins, the “quinones” the “saponines”,
the “terpenoides”, and the steroids. The tannins and the quinones revealed would be in the origin of
antimicrobial activities observed.
These findings allow the recognition use of these plants in the treatment of the blenorragie
Keywords: gonorrhea, Microglossa pyrifolia, Pentas decora smoore urticifolium.
